The children in our care think of our after-school care as a fun and safe space to socialize and unwind after a busy day. And even though they attend different schools, they connect with each other through shared interests and extracurricular activities. They feel right at home at our bright and spacious center and enthusiastically take part in the activities we offer every day, which may range from playing outdoors to cooking meals to building huts.
Playing together, or just relaxing
We encourage children in the after-school-care age range to interact and form friendships with each other by having them actively work together on projects and promoting social interaction this way. Older children who feel the need to chill out are welcome to use the space we set up specifically for this purpose.
School vacations
During school vacations, we have a different activity on the program every day. We also organize field trips, and children have the option to express their creativity through art or do experiments in our lab. We often mark the end of summer vacation with a full week of parties and other fun events, including activities for larger groups of children such as karaoke afternoons or offsite workshops.
Our after school care is centrally located in Almere’s Europakwartier district, across from the Albert Heijn supermarket within walking distance of the Almere Poort railway station.

Creative studioWe often split the toddler and preschool groups into smaller groups so we can carry out an activity with more focus and attention. For example, in our workshop, we offer different craft materials than in the group, such as magic sand.

Daily movementToddlers love to move every day. This is how they playfully discover their bodies. We do this daily, either outside or in our gymnasium during bad weather, so everyone can always expend their energy.

Kids’ kitchenWe have a real Kids’ kitchen that’s been adapted for a child’s height. The children learn chopping, kneading, baking, and working together here. We teach them all about healthy ingredients, working independently and following recipes.

Relaxation CornerOur facility has a warm and homely atmosphere. In the living area, children can relax nicely after a busy day at school. They can enjoy chilling on the couch or in the bean bags with a good book.

What I love most about my work is the bond I have with the children and the fact that I can create activities that make every day enjoyable for them. In doing so, we also contribute to their development—you can see them grow, both literally and figuratively. When the children are happy to come to the after‑school care and excited to see me, my day is complete. And knowing that parents trust us with their most precious gift is the greatest compliment of all.
I truly enjoy working at Kindergarden at our beautiful location in Almere! As a team, our goal is to create a safe environment for the children, to support their development, and to make sure they leave the centre with a smile every day.
Kindergarden offers wonderful opportunities to keep learning, allowing me to perform my role in the best possible way. I gain a lot of fulfilment from my work and deeply enjoy all the moments of interaction with the children—the cuddles and the happy, smiling faces!
