A unique spot in the city centre
Our BSO is housed in a charming canal-side building, right in the lively centre of Leiden. It’s a wonderful place to unwind after a busy school day. Children can play with friends, enjoy board games, or spend time outdoors in the nearby school playground.Inside, there’s plenty of space and a warm atmosphere. Our expression room invites children to explore theatre, dance, and other creative activities – encouraging imagination and self-confidence in a playful way.
Groups based on school
At our BSO, groups are organised by school rather than age. This creates a familiar and comfortable environment, allowing children to be with classmates or peers from their own school. It makes the transition from school to after-school care smooth and reassuring.Freedom to choose and inspiring activities
Children are free to choose what they want to do. Whether it’s playing football, drawing with chalk, crafting, or conducting experiments in our lab – there’s always something fun to explore. In our creative studio, they can make bracelets or work on their own art projects. For older children, we tailor activities to their interests and developmental stage, with exciting themes like The Travelling World, where we (figuratively) visit a different continent each week – and sometimes even go on real outings!Adventure-filled holidays
During school holidays, we go all out with fun themes like superheroes or fairy tales. We organise workshops, city treasure hunts, cooking sessions, and crafting activities. And of course, there’s always time for free play on the playground.Easy to reach
Our BSO is centrally located and easy to access. Paid parking is available right outside, making drop-offs and pick-ups convenient.

Creative studioHere, children can truly let their imagination and creativity run free. We challenge them by offering a variety of materials (wood, stone, clay, paint, and for example, ecoline). So, it's not just about crafting and drawing, but also designing, shaping, building, and handicrafts.

Quiet reading cornerA place to unwind. Take a moment for yourself by quietly reading a book or magazine. The selection is vast: from picture books to reading books. Many children curl up on the couch in the afternoon to read a Donald Duck.

Active outdoor playPlaying outside is not only healthy. Children learn and play differently outside than they do indoors. That's why we are often found outside, always under supervision, of course!

GymAfter a day at school it’s great to let off steam in our exercise area. The gym is great for exercise but also for learning to cooperate and play together. This includes dancing, soccer, or gymnastics.
